(ex)Friend from Hell

Wow, it’s been ages since I last checked in here! What’s my excuse? Well, I’ve been knee-deep in life, but the big news is that I managed to secure a 12-month house and pet sit in Melbourne. Honestly, it's been a total blessing—a much-needed break from all the moving around!

Last November was a blast! I took a whole month off to catch up with family and friends in Europe, and it was just the break I needed. One of the highlights was hanging out with my two beautiful cats, Billy and Polly. Those little furballs always know how to cheer me up. Leaving them behind when I moved back to Australia in 2018 was tough, though. Definitely missing their cuddles!

Before I left Melbourne for my holiday I had a friend—who's since become an ex-friend—look after my car while I was away. Trusting her seemed natural since I bought the car from her a couple of years ago, and she even agreed to be on my insurance. But then, about a week into my trip, she texts me saying someone broke into my car and smashed the window! Trying to sort out the insurance from Europe was a nightmare, and shockingly, she turned on me, claiming I manipulated her.

This was the mess I had to face when I got off a long flight from the UK

My personal belongings in garbages bags dumped on the door step

I wasn’t surprised by her attitude; she had always been pretty mean to people. I have seen her in action. It was disappointing, though, because I thought we were good friends. When I finally got back to Melbourne, I found all my stuff dumped in garbage bags on her doorstep, and she was nowhere to be found.

To make matters worse, she had my car key, and I was stuck! After waiting a couple of hours, knowing she was’nt going to reply to my messages. I had to use the original key that I had with me.

You see a while back the original key got stuck in the ignition and I had call a key guy to my home at the time to get it out and have another one cut. I was told not to use it because it would cost alot to have it taken out, I was only allowed to use it to get into the car, so I always kept it on me.

So, I had no option but to take the risk and surprisingly it worked in the ignition. Phew! Then, as I was going through my stuff from the garbage bags at another friend's place, I stumbled upon an empty vitamin bottle—and guess what was inside? Yep, the car key. So, it turns out this ex-friend hid it on purpose! Can you believe it? Someone I thought was a good friend just flipped the script on me, and I still can’t wrap my head around it!

You know what? This whole situation turned out to be a real blessing in disguise. Staying at her tiny, cluttered flat was such a nightmare; I felt like I was tiptoeing around all the time, like walking on egg shells, just trying not to set her off. Honestly, I couldn't be happier that we're not friends anymore—she's officially out of my life for good, and it feels like a huge weight has been lifted.

It’s wild how someone can create so much drama everywhere they go; I never really saw it when I was always on her side. Now I can totally see the pattern, and it dawned on me that I was just another target on her put-down list.

When I was digging through the garbage bags where she stuffed my belongings, I realized one of my bags was missing—my bag of spiritual goodies! I still haven't gotten it back, but here’s where the universe stepped in: a friend of a friend generously gifted me boxes filled with the most incredible crystals, tarot decks and oracle cards, alter candles, books, Goddess statue, you name it, the list goes on. When I went to this ladies house, whom I have never met before, it felt like we had known each other for years. I was in tears and gave her a big hug and I couldnt say thank you enough.

Honestly, it’s like the universe knew I needed a little magick after all that mess!

Blessed Be
